Deana Hight
President
Deana Hight earned her Masters degree in Classical Art History from California State University, Northridge. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research area is in Ancient Roman Funerary Ritual and Tradition. She currently works as a professor of Art History at Mt. San Antonio College, an instructor at Los Angeles Valley College and is a Museum Educator at Norton Simon Museum. She is president and board member of Art Historians of Southern California, (2007-present) and board member of the Archaeological Institute of America, Los Angeles Chapter, (2007-present). She has presented at regional and national conferences, most recently at CAA and AHSC. In addition, she actively supports Art History as a recognized discipline at community colleges and participated in the successful passage of this initiative at the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges in the spring 2011.
