“Lessening the ‘OH NO’ Factor”

AHSC First Digital Workshop
October 1st 10:30 – 1:00
Room 302, Otis Institute of Art & Design
9045 Lincoln Blvd., Los Angeles 90045

The first digital workshop offered by the Art Historians of Southern California will be hosted by the Otis Institute of Art. The workshop for art historians and studio faculty delves into the handling and presentation of digital images. This workshop provides information for those of you who have yet to make THE BIG SWITCH and don’t know where to start.
Discussions will center on the various hard/software systems used for art history and studio classes. We have invited visual resources specialists and art historians to present hands-on demonstrations of various systems already in place at their institutions. Questions address the nature of data-based systems, Power Point, scanning slides, servers, CD collections, smart classrooms, laptops, and how to easily access images necessary for slide presentations. Since each institution has different needs because of the number of users, the types of courses offered, etc., different types of systems will be presented.
