The Art Historians of Southern California (AHSC) was founded in 1959 and is a College Art Association-affiliated organization. Its focus is bringing art historians from a variety of institutions (universities, colleges, community colleges, museums, and galleries) throughout California to engage in dialogue about the most current scholarship and professional practices in the field. AHSC participates in CAA annual conferences and hosts an annual symposium wherein art historians, visual studies and museum studies scholars present their research for a diverse exchange of ideas and perspectives.
